My brother is a Truck driver and this is wonderful place to visit this my first time here though. They have a place for you to do your laundry and take a shower, a restaurant with a buffet. If you have a dog a place for them to be groomed also. They have other amenities onsight too. Also if you have the time visit the Truck museum. The staff here are very friendly. If you are traveling In Iowa stop by and visit. They call it the Iowa 80 Truckstop.
I'm not a truck driver but when traveling, I like stopping at truck stops to fuel up, eat, walk and stretch and in general, get refreshed and alert. The food here is totally awesome. Love the truck museum and its got everything you could possibly need while traveling. It is certainly one huge place.
I needed to provide a Christmas meal for my daughters family, after a terrible tragedy in our family. I had called many places in Davenport on Christmas Eve, and could find nothing open at 5:00p.m. I couldn't even find pizza anywhere. On my way home from the hospital, after promising my daughter I would find food for her group of 10 adults and 5 kids, my husband said, "well, let's stop at i 80 truck stop. Maybe they'll have something." I didn't hold out a lot of hope, but inside of 20 minutes they made us chicken dinners enough for all, and extended many kindnesses to us in the process. The food was not only satisfactory, but was excellent. It had been several years since we had been there, but it won't be again. We've already been back, and enjoyed great food and great service. Every person that we dealt with treated us with kindness and compssion.
A.K.A. "the World's Largest Truck Stop" this is a decent place to stop, for instance, while en route to the University of Iowa. They have unique restaurants such as Wendy's (obviously not the greatest, but it is fast food, and it beats Pig Donald's or Crud Way). Also, they feature an interesting redneck minimall. Cheers!
Best truckstop on the interstate. It has everything you could want and more, to much to list. The trucking museum is a must see place, and it continues to grow and get better. Can't wait to see the renovations get completed. My only negative is the prices are a little steep, because of the brand name.
